As rumors about a new Apple touch-screen tablet heat up, it's looking more and more likely that Spider-Man and Superman may soon be read by using fingers to zoom and scroll through a digital comic book.
I can't speak to Superman. But Spider-Man? It's reaching a bit, but those dots do connect. Comics aren't a killer app for the tablet, necessarily, but if you knew there might soon be a sea change in the way the content was delivered, it would be a good time to invest in them, wouldn't it?

I initially found it just kind of interesting that Disney is buying Marvel; it'll be fascinating to see if there are any visible changes that come out of that.
However, it quickly occurred to me that the most interesting for me, as traditionally far more of a DC person, is whether I'll have to reevaluate my allegiances now that the Marvel characters are under the partial control of Steve Jobs.

You can thank NASA for coming as close as we'll probably ever get -- hopefully as close as we'll ever get -- to uniting Captain Kirk and Luke Skywalker.
Having started as a NASA educational project, Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey will feature William Shatner and Mark Hamill, as well as Chris Pine, Brent Spiner, Robert Picardo, et al.

I blogged a while back about my disappointment with the official Star Trek iPhone app, and so I'm hoping that Star Radio Communicator makes me a bit happier. It at least seems to provide a bit more Trek look-and-feel to your iPhone. (There's a similar app, Kirk's Communicator, that seems to be similar, but I'm trying this one first, since the graphics seem to be a bit better.)

For the handful of people who care and yet haven't heard yet, Comedy Central is bringing back Futurama for a 26-episode season. I'm excited that it's coming back -- again -- but doubt that I'll resubscribe to cable by the time it returns next year, so I look forward to the eventual DVD Blu-Ray release of the new season.
A brilliant three minutes or so of entertainment (but falls apart after that, IMHO). However, there are other cool Literal Video Versions in the related videos.
